Marvel ... is Monkey’s long established Urban Night, aiming to sew together all the threads that make up this scene under one roof. playing the best of Funk, Hip-Hop, Drum and Bass, Rare Grove, Jazz and those guilty pleasure anthems.
The marvel residents are as follows:
DJ ACTIVE With 18 years of DJ’ing under his belt cheeky little Mr Active plays the latest unreleased promos and rollers and also the best tunes from the current drum and bass chart. He comes from a place called ‘Go sign on’ translated means Gorseinon in the north west of Swansea and if u get a chance to see his record collection it would put nearly every DJ to shame. Active has played along side every DJ imaginable in the drum ‘n’ bass world and if you were there ‘back in the day’ you will remember he used to tear Martha's up!!!
DJ JARED Father Jared has been collecting rare grooves, funk and breaks for time, when he steps up he commands the dance floor, ain’t no stopping him. If it’s going off on a Marvel night the chances are Father Jared is deep in the mix!
DJ NOAH With a big, broad massive, and large range of music, Noah plays 60’s jazz, bebop, old school hip hop, RnB, gangster hip-hip, native tongue Hip-Hip (De La Soul and TCQ) and if your lucky enough to catch him he plays the funkiest drum and bass around. Noah has been DJ’ing for 9 years and has managed to play as far away as Cape Town and Thailand. He is currently working with New York’s slam champions Ainsley Burrows, Farro Z and Bryonn Bain on a production call ‘NewYorkLive’. Noah is the only person rinsing out Q-tip the way it should be done.
MR MELODY A well established MC, boasting monster events such as Dreamscape, Glastonbury and Fantasia to add to his reasumme. Melody has been ruling mic’s in Swansea for years and there is no sign of him letting go just yet. When he rocks up he gets the crowd focused extremely warm and lively.
