Skeptics In The Pub provides an opportunity for people who are interested in science, skepticism, rationalism, critical thinking. with a bit of comedy thrown in, to socialise and discuss matters of interest. The meetings are open to all regardless of beliefs and each talk will be followed up with a challenging Q&A session; and just as importantly Drinks!

Bad Science in the Developing World by Martin Robbins
In this talk Martin will give us a more global view of homeopathy, crackpots abroad and the impact of bad science in the developing world. He will look at fan deaths and penis panics, cover the activities of homeopaths in Haiti and Africa, explore the anti-vaccination movement that prevented the eradication of polio in Africa, and look at how cancer patients across the world were led to drink bleach, as well as looking at other issues like AIDS denialism, how alternative medicine props up the Cuban healthcare system, dodgy bomb-detectors, and a plethora of other stories about quacks amok in the developing world.
