Sound of Monkey

Sound of Monkey is a brand new independent record label based in Swansea, UK. Emerging out of the internationally acclaimed Monkey Café, the label is developing local and national artists to expose onto the global music scene.

The Sound of Monkey team has run successful record labels and studios, operated licensed clubs and promoted live events across Europe.

With our current artists roster of This Vessel and ok we aim to bring credible and exceptional talent to the global jukebox and set the standard for our future releases. Each band will tour in 2008 in support of an album and singles.

Alongside traditional promotional methods, we will also fully embrace guerilla media including viral marketing and direct band access via Blogs and online interaction.

In our recording complex on the Gower peninsula we can offer artists space and time to develop their work and open access to recording facilities.

Industry standard facilities using Pro-Tools, Manley, PMC and Focusrite technologies allow us to relax while we create, helping to bring the best out of artists and producers alike.

We are developing a catalogue of exclusive audio and visual material to be released on our label and broadcast over our broadband channel.

Using the chilled, sophisticated Monkey Café as a backdrop we create intimate sessions with singers and players, film and record them and send them out to the world as podcasts and broadcast quality programmes.

What Factory did for Manchester and Sub Pop for Seattle, Sound of Monkey will do for Swansea, home of the biggest little scene on the planet.
